You can’t manage if you can’t measure it. In other words, you can’t monetize what you can't value. Numerous studies report that intangible assets represent at least 70% of corporate value and emphasize that indifference to valuing patents is hindering the management and monetization of the largest category of corporate assets.
To address the rising concern of patent valuation in Arab countries, Licensing Executives Society – Arab Countries (LES-AC) and AMMAN - The Business Development Academy (BDA) cooperate to jointly market the Certified Patent Valuation Analyst (CPVA) designation in the Arab countries and Turkey. As HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, LES-AC president, said: “We are delighted to bring the world’s leading designation dedicated to patent valuation analysis to the Arab countries. As patent filings proliferate in the region, there will be a voracious appetite to have these assets valued for many reasons, including patent sales, patent licensing, and patent commercialization.” Mr. David Wanetick, Managing Director of the Business Development Academy, added: “LES-AC will be instrumental in bringing the teachings of patent valuation to licensing executives, Intellectual Property asset managers, inventors, Intellectual Property lawyers and other professionals throughout the Arab countries and Turkey.”
CPVA training will be run in the UAE and Turkey in April 2014 and will be followed by other sessions in Egypt and Tunisia in October 2014.
The Certified Patent Valuation Analyst Designation is the leading designation which indicates that an individual has attained a high degree of proficiency in the process of valuing patents and emerging technologies. Designees hail from all over the world and include financial analysts, technology transfer professionals, intellectual property managers, licensing managers, inventors, patent lawyers and other business development executives with the skill set necessary to value patents.
