IP And Public Health, Biotech Rise As Issues In TPP Negotiations:

Intellectual property and the issues of biotechnology and public health are rising concerns for stakeholders to the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement negotiations.

Intellectual Property Appellate Tribunal says it has powers to review its orders:

On 8th July 2013, a larger bench of the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) issued orders that the IPAB has the power to review its own orders on merit. The review can be taken up in certain conditions and it also has the power to grant interim orders pending final application.  

MyMedicalRecords Receives Patent for Users to Access and Collect Prescriptions:

MMRGlobal Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary MyMedicalRecords, Inc. (collectively, "MMR" or the "Company"), announced in a press release that it has been issued US Patent No. 8,498,883 (the "883 Patent") entitled, "Method for Providing a User with a Service for Accessing and Collecting Prescriptions."

Beyond book value – understanding the value of intellectual property & other intangible assets:

Most of that competitive edge is provided by intangible assets. When you compare market value to book value, the difference is the intangible assets sometimes referred to as intellectual property or intellectual capital. These assets on average account for 80% of the worth of a business.

Lao PDR - Lao government to strengthen intellectual property regulation:

On 27 May 2013, the Director-General of the Ministry of Science and Technology's Department of Intellectual Property, Mr Sitha Phouyavong, spoke at the Lao Consultation Forum on Accession to the Madrid Protocol.  In his speech, Mr Phouyavong noted that Laos would need to overhaul its intellectual property administration in preparation for Laos’ participation in the Madrid Protocol system by 2015.
